Cos when I do nothing, it pretty much answers to what society means when they deem me to be doing nothing. Yes I pretty much don't do real "productive" things that society feels everyone should be doing.
But I tend to reflect a lot on my life, and I think, what I would say is... I've probably streamlined my life to take out a lot of clutter and white noise.
I tend to like to do simple things that make me happy, avoid people who annoy me, and pretty much, I'm ok to just hang around in my own thoughts. And I think, that's somewhat lacking in our current society.
Everyone seems to be "struggling"... Bills to pay, stuff to buy... But... really? Are we really too busy? Are we really struggling? Are we really struggling such that we don't have ANY time to help others? To spend time with our kids? To put a bit of effort to be more environmentally conscious?
No... in fact, many of us are hardly struggling, we're doing great, we have money, food to eat, a shelter, clothes, etc... but yet... many people feel that they don't have enough, "I can't even take care of myself, how can I afford to help others or be bothered about climate change?"
Really?
So let's not fool ourselves. Most of us are NOT struggling.
Most of us are greedy. Most of us want to hide in our own comfort. Most of us want to be lazy and not think about bigger issues. Many just want to live our lives in ignorance and just everyday "one day pass one day".
It's a lot easier to tell yourself that you are struggling and need to work harder, work more, earn more money, than to stop and think about what you want to do with your life. To explore what you want to do, what makes you happy, etc.
So... really, I highly encourage folks to sit around and just reflect upon life and how things are you for and your family, what do you want to do with your short time on this Earth, spend more time with your kids, spend more time with yourself, etc...
Most of us are poor, we're just somehow programmed to feel like we're always poor, like we don't have enough, but actually, we already have a lot, we just need to really stop and think about it.
