Not just glad. I mean super happy.
You know you're miserable at where you work. Those of you who are in a bad company, bad boss, poor working conditions, etc.
Let's not talk about those folks who are neutral in their job who don't know whether they like it or not.
I know there are some of you who are totally miserable.
Saturday is here, but Sunday will come soon, and Sunday is miserable cos Monday is next.
I was like that previously.
Friday was great. By Saturday I was starting to feel down. And Sundays... I was getting depressed.
There's real fear when Monday arrives.
If that's the case, you probably hate your work or work environment. There's a difference, you may actually like or feel neutral about your work but due to the boss or company or colleagues or whatever, you totally don't like doing what you do.
Most people work 5 days a week.
52 weeks a year. That's 260 days.
There are 11 public holidays. And you get probably 14 days to 21 days leave.
If we minus those out we get 235 - 228 working days.
That's around 63% of the year that we spend working.
So if we rearrange this, it's something like 7.5 months.
So it's like spending the whole of Jan through July and half of August being miserable, and the rest of the year you're happy.
Luckily, we break up the working days into weekdays and weekends, else, I think many people would be in depression.
That's a HUGE part of our lives to be unhappy.
Every 3 years, we "waste" close to 2 years of our lives.
And if we stay in that job for 10 years, that's 6 years of our lives wasted being miserable.
So IF you're MISERABLE at your job, then I think you might want to change your job.
Miserable is when you dread Sundays, cos Monday is coming.
If you've always felt that way and think it's normal, IT'S NOT!
That means you started out your career already in a bad place and never been in a place which you have felt at least neutral, ie, don't really mind working but could be better.
I reckon feeling neutral is what most people feel. They usually don't mind their work. They aren't elated and bouncing off the walls. But they are able to just go to work, do what they have to do, there are good days, there are bad days, but it all evens out and they are fine.
They are happy weekends are here, but on Sunday, they get a big sian Monday is coming, but they don't dread it and get all depressed.
People who are miserable at their work get all depressed and down on Sundays.
I've felt neutral before, and I've felt miserable before.
When I'm miserable, I just want to hide in my room and not get disturbed and just drown in my own sorrows. It's pretty much like depression.
So if you're really miserable at your work, I'd highly encourage you to brush up your resume this weekend and send out a few to recruiters. There's a need to be proactive to get out of this runt. It doesn't have to be this way. Things should be at least neutral. If you're planning on farming for 10 years. It's really a long long time to be in a miserable situation.
It's probably better to earn less in a good place than be miserable but earn a lot in a bad place. Don't waste your life being unhappy. Everyday is precious.
