Expense has risen mainly cos we have been taking trips out of central Paris to go see some sights.
Food expense has dropped. €57.80
Basically, we ate out a lot less and bought less groceries.
Toiletries is at €19.79.
Which is no real difference from our first month. Basically, topping up our shampoo and washing liquids.
Transport €27.05.
Transport expense is pretty tricky to determine, cos it's like a top-up card. So I topped up my card to use my UOB credit card to clock more of my S$500 spend. But in essence, I didn't really travel more than last month. Actually, I travelled less.
Misc expense is at ZERO.
That's good. Cos last month we had some gas inspection and that was pretty expensive.
I got my first bill for home internet. €44.49
The monthly payment is €14.99, the excess is set up cost.
The charge for my own mobile line is €15.49.
The actual subscription is €4.99.
The excess is the cost of the SIM card €10 and a bit of last months' bill for a few days.
Utilities is at a whopping €125.22.
So €45.22 is for last month's bill, and €80 will be charged monthly from now on for the next 10 months, then at the end of the year, they will come and take the meter reading and charge/rebate me for any difference. It's similar to Singapore when SP Services goes to take meter reading only once every 2 months. Just that in Paris they do it once per year.
Went to 2 places €244
Palace of Versailles, which many people know about...
and Mont St. Michel, which not many people know about.
My wife's food expense has increased €73.57.
Which is pretty ok, cos it's a full month for July. Whereas in June it was only around 10 days.
She gets highly subsidized food at staff cafeteria. If she eats out the cost would maybe increase by 3x.
SP Services seem to have dropped. But I'm unable to determine how much the average cost is every month.
For June, I got charged a few dollars, but for July, I got rebates of a few dollars. Maybe after another few months, I will be able to determine what's the real average monthly expense for keeping my utilities on in Singapore.
That's about it. Nothing really special this month.
Mainly, I didn't have any surprise misc expenses.
But instead I went for some trips around the area.
We expected to make some trips around France and Europe region during our 2 years here, cos... well it's an opportunity, else we'll need to fly from SG to Europe next time. So we thought, might as well cover some of the more "must visit" kind of places during this period of our lives.
Next month will be even more expensive as we will be planning a trip out of France. Probably will cost us S$1,000 per person, for a couple of regions. Let's see how that pans out.
