Is CIMB going to have the next best credit card?

We just came back from Amsterdam, and we are really glad to be back. It was really cold and miserable and expensive, and the food wasn't really to our liking... Pretty much everything we didn't really appreciate. It was a learning experience though, cos we tend to want to get a sense of the various European countries and get a feel of what the life is over there.
So we're really glad to be back to Singapore where I can eat cheap food which I can cook for myself, the weather is somewhat manageable, and most of my operations has been set up for us to live a luxurious frugal lifestyle.

Anyway... I just received these 2 SMS from CIMB when I was in Amsterdam.

For CIMB Visa Signature and CIMB Platinum Mastercard, previously customers would need to spend $600 minimum spend on the credit card AND 8 transactions of $30 per month to be eligible for the rebates.
It was never easy to micromanage the spending so I never bothered to try to get the 10% rebates.

HOWEVER!!! If the SMS I received can be taken at face value, from 23 November 2018, both these cards will only have a $600 minimum spend without the multiple conditions.

Dear Valued Cardmember, we've made it easier for you to earn cashback on your CIMB Visa Signature - with no multiple conditions! W.e.f. 23 Nov 2018, you can earn 10% cashback (capped at S$100) for Grocery and all Online transactions, on top of Wine and Dine transactions with a min. spend of S$600! T&Cs apply.

Ok, I'll still likely use my UOB One card and UOB One account to combo for bonus interest for my regular spending. HOWEVER, when it's time to spend on big ticket items like an air ticket, or a travel accommodation, etc... It's a 10% rebate... and potentially it's going to be on top of any promos that is going to be offered by Shopback or Lazada, etc...

10% is seriously no joke, it's like a 10% discount on the big ticket item...

Furthermore, these 2 cards have 0% admin fees for foreign exchange transactions. How this works is, if you use this card and incur a FX transaction, they will rebate the admin fees back to you the next month which essentially is 0% admin fees.

But as always I'm still having some difficulty hitting $500 on 2 UOB One cards every month, except for the months when we go overseas. But it's a good secondary card now... Cos I can use it to book my air tickets if I'm going on long flights like Paris or Perth, and use it to book hotel accommodation as well.

Now of course we'll have to see what the full T&C are when it comes out on 23 November but I'm hopeful that this card will become one of the better cards out there in the coming months.

Before this change, min monthly spending for Visa Signature is S$500 not $600. But the 10% rebate for F&B is capped at $60(spending of$600).

The change, min spending is S$600 but 10% rebate for F&B is capped at $50; 10% rebate for grocery is capped at $50. Not too bad, but I dun do monthly grocery of $500! I can easily spend $600 of F&B, though now capped at $500.

Nevertheless, still attractive...

Decided to embark on a mission to retire early in Singapore, a place where such an idea is considered impossible. As I believe that life has a lot more to offer instead of just a working career. I've decided to start a blog to note down my journey to achieve this mission and help others along the way who are willing to listen and try doing things differently from everyone else.

I have decided to remain anonymous until I finally am able to actually retire, reason being that this idea might not gel well with the company which I am working for currently and also to avoid real life flaming from people who say that such ideas are impossible and that an individual is lazy for choosing early retirement instead of contributing to society in the form of labour.
