......I would love to get my hands on the foam mat, steriliser and printer (I badly need a printer and have been so many times tempted to just buy one at courts)......
Hi! May I know if I could get the printer if you find another one! I need one!
I was pretty stunned by this.
I mean... The audacity to ask for free stuff. Like I had to lug all these stuff and dig through the trash for all these. And I even had to walk through the rain on one occasion.
These are all my precious treasures.
I have already even listed the foam tiles on Carousel for sale.
I make only around 30¢ - 50¢ per day for running this blog.
The items aren't even listed on my giveaway page.
Like, in what world do you live in that you can just openly ask for over $200 worth of retail value of stuff?
You're supposed to go and obtain them for yourself!!!
Cheryl I have a few words for you. And I hope you read them carefully.
I have emailed you to arrange for you to pick up all the items that you have requested.
You see. The only world that such actions are acceptable are in the freegan world.
For now I freely receive and thus, I also freely give.
I had intended to sell the items, but I am entirely happy that I am able to gift them to Cheryl.
My only request is that she uses them happily.
(Not for resale please, cos if you're gonna resell then might as well I sell it myself.)
But after you use it, you can do whatever you want with it.
You see, I'm happy when I find nice stuff, and I'm happy to pass it to someone else, and I hope that they will be happy to receive it.
Can you imagine what this would look like in the normal world?
I go out and work for 6-20 hours to earn money. Then Cheryl asks me to buy for her all these items.
What do you think my response would have been to her?
Would any of you raise up your hands to say you will buy these stuff for her? Especially those folks who've been trolling me.
I'm not trying to make a big deal of me giving away free stuff, but rather to spread a message to the naysayers.
Freeganism, dumpster diving, whatever... these are all ideas, like tools.
A knife can be used to hurt someone or to help with our daily activities.
Fire can burn down a house or can be used to cook or keep warm.
It's how we use all these ideas and tools that determine who we are.
A gun does not kill people. People kill people using guns. They could similarly use a knife to kill as well.
I have never felt so free from material possessions. 3 months ago, if someone gives me something, I would likely hold on to it, or try to sell it, much less give it to a stranger.
(I mean Cheryl's not really a stranger, cos she's been hanging around my blog... But you get the picture.)
But now... Many things have changed. Cos what I freely receive, I also freely give away.
And I can further go out and look for more stuff to make other people happy again.
Of course there's still stuff that I'd like to keep for myself. Duhz... But I don't have so much attachment to stuff anymore.
I didn't say I don't have attachment. I said I don't have so much attachment. I still have needs and wants, but in a different way.
Errm. Well I think people should use some common sense right. Don't ask for my dining table. I still need it to eat.
I'm confident I can find another dining table, but that's just troublesome, most of us dumpster divers don't collect furniture (unless it's really something we want) cos it's really bulky and hard to transport and also hard to give away.
Then there's of course the folks who will say why I don't just give everything away instead of trying to sell them.
(You know the problem about naysayers right, after you answer 1 question, they always try to come up with another creative question to troll you.)
Well, 2 points.
1. I would like to make some pocket money out of this activity. It's fun as well.
2. Cheryl asked nicely, so she gets it.
I'm still in the process of experimenting on how to clear the stuff I get. To collect them and to pass them on, so it's still work in process, I've just started this activity so I need to find out for myself what is the best way to administer this.
