So yesterday was a full day running around the event, then today, as all the part timers were already familiar from yesterday, they came and could run the event adequately, so my sis just let me go early.
I'm quite glad that I could get home early today. Yesterday's experience was a bit... disappointing. I thought that it would be optimal if I could get a part time job so that I could make some extra cash in my free time, HOWEVER, there is no extra time if I worked those hours.
If I was released the same time as yesterday, then today's laundry would need to be done at night and I would need to use the dryer to dry the laundry cos I don't hang the laundry out at night cos it doesn't dry well.
Then when I got home, I had the time to buy groceries on the way back to prepare for tonight's dinner. YAY!!! And when I reached home, I had the time to vacuum the floor today. Yesterday I didn't have the time to do it.
So if I work backwards, I was released at 10 am, now it's 12:30. I'll prob take some time to prep the groceries so, I estimate I would need around 3 hours or so to do my daily chores and stuff...
This means that I would need to allocate around 3 hours daily to household admin and then only the excess time can be put to part time work, so that we can maintain our current level of free time.
Which means I can work 5 hours from 8am to 1pm or 11am to 4pm, if I want to maintain our current luxury of leisure time on evenings and weekends. If I work anymore than that then we would likely have to do our household duties in the evenings or weekends like normal couples.
I'd probably do it again. I do get paid a part timers pay. So it's not too bad. I don't mind the full hours til 4pm if it's for a couple of days, but if it's going to be for long term, then I might as well get a normal job which will pay more, cos I won't have the current lifestyle anyway.
I'll probably be experimenting with other part time work as the months go by so I'll be updating here as well.
