And I'm going to talk about, people with Old money, New money, Quiet money, and No money...
Old money is generational wealth.
Typically, a kid is brought up in a rich household. Doesn't need to be super rich, but wealthy enough. And I find their behaviour depends on their parents. I know of rich kids who are nice and respectful, their parents teach them well, maybe their parents worked hard to get where they are and instill good values upon their children. However, I also hear of bratty rich kids who take things for granted cos their parents spoilt them when they were young.
Sudden money is fairly obvious. They want to buy stuff, cos they never had stuff. This is typical of those stories we hear about the rich people in China who suddenly got rich. They never had all the fancy toys and stuff, so they like to go out and buy stuff and go home and show it to their friends who aren't rich. It's like shouting out "I'M RICH! LOOK AT ALL MY STUFF I HAVE!".
Very different from people who worked hard to get rich, cos they had it easy, somehow money came easy for them. There's little to no sacrifice on their part so they don't feel any heartache when spending.
Quiet money is people who don't talk much about money. They are wealthy and don't show it. They wear the army T-shirt with holes in them, with flip-flops and they stay in HDB and eat cheaply at the hawker center. They blend in nicely with the other uncles and aunties and are usually nice people cos they don't want to be obnoxious and stand out. They like their quiet lifestyle, they don't want people to know they have money, cos it could be troublesome.
Then there's the folks... No money... Always no money.
They always like to compare with people. Woah this person went on holiday, my friend just bought a new car, my colleague just got a new Chanel bag. Woah ERSG how come I know you for X years, I never seen you work at all. They might not be particularly poor, but they are always comparing and looking at someone else. And somehow they are always complaining that they have "no money".
As I said, they might not be poor, they could be middle income, except they always feel they don't have money.
And I also find these people tend to like to buy "quality" they buy expensive stuff and they love to talk about how good it is and justify how special these items are, like an Apple Mac Pro, or some fancy gadget they just bought and how it's a special patented technology.
There's A LOT of people in this group... REALLY A LOT!!!
Confirm you know someone within this group.
Anyway, that's all for today's post. Just for fun.
