I think I posted this Youtube clip before. I was reminded of it again cos I saw a scene like this in a restaurant I was in yesterday.
A couple of tai tais were in the restaurant and one of them was explicitly loud talking, about her 3 maids and 1 driver and yet her marriage was in a mess and her kids aren't around her. Somehow, the impression I got was that her home was always empty and she gets maids to fill up the house, even tho they ask for steep increments. She had complained that one of her helpers asked for a MYR700 increase. From MYR1500 to MYR2200.
I was reminded about this YouTube clip. And I thought... We really need to be grounded. Cos when I was working for FI, even though I was/am not rich, I had forgot what was important in life. I can quite confidently say I never enjoyed my life very much previously.
So it's not only about the super rich, but rather even for folks who are just trying to obtain FI. Sometimes we might lose sight of the forest for the trees. Cos we're so focused on FI that we might forget about the other important things around us.
