And most of us STILL don't know the answer.
And we've forgotten the question... Cos it's no longer important in our lives.
And that's the sad thing about it. Cos... It's like as we grow older we lose curiosity.
We don't ask ridiculous questions anymore. Cos we learn that, maybe it's not important to us, or don't ask so many questions.
Most of us didn't get the answer when we were young, cos our parents didn't know, cos our teachers didn't know.
And maybe some of you might not even care about the answer anymore.
So today...
We will find out... Why the sky is blue.
Video clip if you have time...
The explanation by Neil deGrasse Tyson is highly recommended.
He explains it very well.
Else there's a picture further below.
So there you have it...
The sky is just perceived as blue cos of the light the passes through the atmosphere and gets scattered by the particles in the atmosphere. The sky is glowing blue light which has been scattered by particles in the atmosphere.
Finally you know why the sky is blue.
Now you know what to tell your kids next time. And hopefully they do not lose curiosity in the environment around them like what happened to most of us.
